Does your Excel spreadsheet match any of these descriptions:
- Uses a lot of formulas, especially: IF, INDEX, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, IFERROR
- Has more than 5 worksheets
- Has 3 or more pivot tables
- Uses VB macros or scripts
- Takes several minutes to load
- Takes several minutes to save
- Is larger than 5 MB
- Is used in weekly or monthly managers meetings
- Is used (directly or indirectly) to make important financial or strategic decisions
- Has been in continuous development for over a year
- Has been maintained by several different people over its life span
- Is currently only maintained by one person
- Senior managers become anxious when they are on holidays
- Or the person is "encouraged" to update the spreadsheet while they are away (does that really count as holidays?)
